Objectives: The "Aeronautical and Space Systems Engineering" course carried out by the University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne is part of the E3A master's degree at Paris-Saclay University. The objective of ISAS is to master the concepts, models and techniques necessary for the design and development of avionics systems (aircraft and spacecraft, autonomous systems). The course covers all the techniques used in the instrumental chain, from the sensor to the on-board algorithms and to data transmission, in compliance with the regulations, standards and methodologies of the field. The training is backed by the IBISC laboratory associated with the UFR Sciences and Technologies of the University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne. The teaching team carries out their research on the problems of air or road transport, on aeronautical and space robotics, in the following disciplines: modeling and simulation, automation, signal and image processing, on-board computing. The training is certified by the ASTech Paris Region Competitiveness Cluster.
Intended for: students, employees, persons seeking employment
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Prerequisites: Depending on the entry level (1st or 2nd year).
Scientific and / or technological knowledge and skills in electronics, automation, industrial IT; English. Knowledge in the aerospace field is a plus, without being compulsory.
Admission requirements: This training is selective, based on a file to be submitted to the Paris-Saclay University website. The diplomas giving the right to apply depend on the desired entry level (Bac + 3 or Bac + 4, possibility of Validation of Studies, VAE and VAP), but must all belong to the scientific or technological field related to Electrical Engineering and / or Industrial Computing. Foreign students under the CEF procedure must inquire with Campus France for their procedures (http://www.campusfrance.org/fr/page/procedure-cef-consulte-votre-dossier).

applications in second year: M2 ISAS
application in second year by apprenticeship: M2 Intelligent Automobile and Aeronautical Systems - apprenticeship
Acquired skills during the training : This master delivers high-level training, as close as possible to the latest technologies, in close collaboration with industrialists and research laboratories recognized in the field. It deals with disciplines essential to the research and development of innovative avionics equipment. It emphasizes the modeling, design and integration of the elements of a mechatronic instrumental chain by understanding the specific technologies for aeronautics and space (for example: ARINC field network, integrated navigation systems, generation and planning of path). The training emphasizes their implementation in compliance with regulations, standards and methodologies in the field, as well as aspects related to human factors. The practice of English plays an important part.
The skills acquired make it possible to:
- implement a "system" approach on concrete engineering problems in the innovation trades;
- master the entire instrumental chain associating sensors, actuators and field networks as well as the hardware and software architectures of the interfaces between the different elements of an avionics system;
- master the software and hardware rapid simulation and prototyping tools;
- acquire a transversal vision in instrumentation of autonomous systems;
- acquire in-depth knowledge of on-board systems;
- be able to integrate transmission equipment;
- be able to define HMIs that meet the requirements in terms of human factors;
- master the regulations, standards and methods in force in the aeronautics and space sector;
- know how to comply with design objectives and constraints;
- have a developed sense of analysis and observation;
- master English.
Targeted careers : Graduates can join study and research departments in companies that design and develop avionics systems or their testing means: large groups, SMEs / SMIs and start-ups. Industrial outlets mainly concern the aeronautics and space sector, more generally that of transport. They can also join research laboratories as a doctoral student and prepare a thesis in the field of Information and Communication Science and Technology. Among the large companies or establishments recruiting in the field, let us quote: Thalès, Sagem, EADS, Siemens, Veolia, Valeo, Schneider Electric, CEA, CNES, PSA, Renault. These functions are also exercised in subcontracting IT services companies.
Duration and terms: The training takes place over 2 years. Specialization is progressive. The 1st semester of the 1st year is common to all the courses of the mention, the establishments involved each intervening on their specialties. In the 2nd semester, specialization is introduced (knowledge of aircraft, and avionics systems, flight mechanics and equations of motion). The 2nd year is entirely devoted to specialization (planning and generation of trajectories, flight domain control, architecture of on-board systems, software engineering, transmissions and telecommunications, navigation systems) and deals with more modern techniques (for example hybridization IMU / GNSS, SysML modeling). The teaching of English is provided every semester. The second year of the Master includes an internship in the second semester (6 months) in France or abroad.
Lessons in aeronautics and space represent a quarter of training in M1, three quarters in M2 (internship included).
Notes: Over 90% of permanent teachers carry out research activities in one of the two laboratories associated with the UFR of Sciences and Technologies (LMEE and IBISC). They work on air and road transport issues, on launchers, on aeronautical and space robotics, in the following disciplines: optimization, modeling and simulation, automatic and signal processing, on-board IT. Strong partnerships have been developed with CNES, Eurocopter, ONERA, the École des Mines de Paris, the ICARE laboratory, IFFSTAR. The training benefits from the support of the Paris Saclay Campus establishments involved in the mention of a master's degree.
The university is a training operator for its outside CFA (AGESUP) and hosts a Start up and CRT incubator, some of which come from the UFR S&T. She is a member of the ESI (formerly PSEVS), an interdisciplinary pole bringing together players in higher education and research in the Evry region around research, training and innovation; it brings together our university, the Genopole, the CHSF, TSP, TEM, the Materials Center and the ENSIIE.
The course is part of the Paris Saclay Campus, in a master's degree bringing together the ECP, L’SEN Cachan, SUPMECA, the University of Paris Sud, the ENSTA. The University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne is a founding member of PRES UniversSud Paris. She joined the IDEX Campus Paris Saclay.
The university chairs the thematic area Employment, Training & Research of the ASTech Paris Region Competitiveness Cluster, and is a member of CIRAS of Versailles. She is co-founder of the aerosynergie aeronautical training network (public and private establishments in Ile de France, representatives of GIFAS, FNAM, the Air Force, the Region and the Rectorates of Ile de France). An agreement binds us with the Alexandre Denis de Cerny high school and the CFA for air crafts (pooling of technical resources and teachers). These actions are supported by Air France Industries.
Collaborations have been set up with ONERA, Bertin Technologies, Roxel and EADS, as well as engineering schools such as ISAE, ESTACA and IPSA, initiated around the PERSEUS project piloted by CNES. A multi-party framework agreement associates us with these companies and schools around common training and research activities.
The UFR S&T has specific resources specific to its aeronautical activities: ULM and mini-drone construction workshop, light aircraft and helicopter maintenance workshop, avionics laboratory, experimental rocket construction workshop in partnership with CNES .
The establishment offers its students the opportunity to learn how to pilot light aircraft: it prepares for the theoretical tests of the PPL, and has a flight simulator for light aircraft.
