Objectives: The GEOMAS course (Geomatics and Spatial Analysis) offers theoretical, methodological and technical training on the methods and tools dedicated to the processing, management, analysis, visualization and sharing of spatialized data. It also provides thematic knowledge of geography and territorial sciences allowing to learn, through the mobilization and processing of various geographic data, the major societal and environmental issues.
It responds to the emergence of new job profiles requiring knowledge and know-how in the field of spatial analysis and geostatistics, geomatics and IT, geography and planning. The GEOMAS course is organized jointly with the master's degree in "complementary computer skills" from the University of Grenoble Alpes (UFR IM2AG).
The objective of the course is to train students in the development and implementation of methods and tools for processing geographic information and spatial analysis to meet the major societal challenges of territorial management and analysis. . It focuses on the acquisition of high-level skills and knowledge both in geomatics and spatial analysis (GIS, spatial database, webmapping, cartography, datavisualization, geostatistics and spatial modeling ...), in computer science (algorithms and programming, database, Web, software engineering ...), while associating a strong application dimension in the field of geography, the environment, town planning, planning or territorial management.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Prerequisites: The GEOMAS course is aimed at students with training in geography, environment or territorial sciences with knowledge of geographic information tools, or students in computer science or applied mathematics aware of environmental and planning issues, territorial sciences and georeferenced data.
Targeted careers : The training system prepares students for the professional fields of sustainable development and regional planning: economic development, social and solidarity development; planning and public policies; environmental management, sustainability, energy and climate; urban and rural development; metropolization and peri-urbanization; transport and mobility; tourism ; Agriculture ; heritage ; culture…
The professional registers are those of territorial observation, studies and foresight; the design, animation and evaluation of territorial projects; geomatics.
