Objectives: The objective of the “Mobile Automatic Systems” course is to master the concepts, models and techniques necessary for the design and development of mobile automatic systems (land vehicles, air vehicles, etc.).
The SAM course deals with the entire "perception, decision, action" cycle without obscuring the "communication" and "interfacing" aspects between the control part and the operational part.
Two strong colors are given to the lessons offered in this course:
- the first deals with "control" and enables the training of engineers with strong skills in "advanced automation";
- the second oriented "perception" deals with the exploitation and fusion of multi-sensory information from the various on-board sensors.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Acquired skills during the training : At the end of the training, the students are able to:
* implement a "system" approach on concrete engineering problems in the fields of innovation,
* master the entire functional chain combining sensors, actuators and effectors as well as the hardware and software architectures of the interfaces between the different elements of an automatic system,
* master software-hardware simulation and rapid prototyping tools,
* acquire a transversal vision while having an excellent scientific basis in the automation of embedded systems, thus allowing the design, testing, implementation and validation of control methods,
* acquire in-depth knowledge of embedded signal processing,
* be able to use the output signals from the on-board sensors, to combine them, to merge the highest level information synthesized from these signals,
* acquire the basics necessary for the processing of discrete two-dimensional signals from "camera" type sensors (image signals) and thus be able to design and integrate higher level perception algorithms,
* master the different on-board architectures and interface methodology,
* know how to comply with design objectives and constraints, in particular technological ones,
* have a developed sense of analysis and observation,
* have listening, exchange and pedagogical skills,
* master scientific English.
