Objectives: The objective of the Master of Physics is to provide high-level training in fundamental and experimental physics covering a very broad area of ??Physics. It is also about providing students with an international outlook and a great capacity for adaptation compatible with the current evolution of research and industrial development activities in many fields:
- Particle and Astroparticle Physics, Theoretical Physics
- Physics of complex systems, Complexity of the living world
- Astrophysics and Cosmology
- The study of Electromagnetic Radiation, its Interaction with Matter, Analysis and Signal Processing
- Photonic Optics and Image Processing
- Fusion and Plasma Sciences and fields related to Energy
The Master also offers an opening to teaching professions, with serious preparation for the aggregation competitions for the physical option.
A distance learning Master of Physics (MPAD) aims to enable any MPAD graduate to acquire a solid general education in the major areas of fundamental physics.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Acquired skills during the training : - Understand and solve disciplinary and transdisciplinary problems through the acquisition and implementation of knowledge in Physics.
- Develop an observational, experimental, and theoretical scientific approach by documenting, identifying and modeling physical concepts, open problems, and obstacles.
- Understand the issues and rules of oral and written communication of scientific knowledge in an international context, in various settings: team, collaboration, seminars, articles.
- Develop and implement an innovative scientific project in Physics and its interfaces, individually or as part of the leadership of a team, thanks to a project methodology and the use of appropriate communication tools.
- Implement and adapt the scientific approach in Physics in different professional fields by relying on the capacities of analysis, realization, innovation or training.
- Define a personal and professional project by building an individual path in the discipline, adopting an approach based on Physics, and integrating ethics that respect intellectual property and the rules of scientific and technological dissemination.
Targeted careers : The primary objective of the Master's degree in "Physics" is to pursue a thesis, in doctoral schools (national or abroad) and integration into engineering professions in an industrial environment at bac+5 level (professionals in training, research and development) linked to the innovation capabilities of an AMU master's student. It also opens up to liberal professions in the field of consulting and entrepreneurship.
