Course Details

Objectives: The Master 2 Materials: Development, Characterization and Surface Treatments (MECTS) is a general and multidisciplinary course, aimed at training high-level executives with a perfect command of the scientific and technical aspects of the design and development, implementation and shaping, control and monitoring of metallic, polymer, ceramic and composite materials.
In addition to a common core of teaching, this course allows students to choose a specialization concerning the materials applied:
- Either in the field of aeronautics and space.
- Or in the field of construction and public works.

Both constitute strategic fields, both carriers of numerous cutting-edge research and industrial activities, and providers of internships and jobs, from local to international level.

Intended for: Students in Materials Science and Engineering in initial training.
Professionals in vocational education.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Acquired skills during the training :
** Technical skills: mastery of materials characterization tools;
design and manufacture of materials: metals and alloys, polymers, ceramics;
mastery of thin film deposition technologies; Integration of materials into
devices and products
** Methodological skills: implement scientific and technical skills; Interpret results; develop a synthesis protocol, ...
** Organizational skills: understand the structure and organization of the company;
know how to work in a team and communicate in French and English; register one's action
in a collective strategy; develop scenarios and action plans; establish
priorities in accordance with collective objectives; organize one's work, self-assess;
meet deadlines
** Soft skills: ability to listen, dialogue, argue, convince; ability to create
synergies between individuals and departments.
