Course Details

Objectives: The BUT Génie Electrique et Informatique Industrielle (GEII) aims to train students in 3 years for the functions of senior technician in the fields of electronics, electrical engineering, industrial computing, industrial networks, automation, energy and digital information systems while offering an opportunity to continue their studies.

The training provides the essential foundations, both from a theoretical and practical point of view, for understanding and mastering the design techniques of systems based on industrial automatons, alone or in a network, electrical rotating machines, programmable components, small embedded and communicating systems, digital, analog and power electronic devices. It provides strong technical skills in the context of the development of multidisciplinary projects related to industrial applications and generally associated with the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
To achieve this objective, the training is based on modular teaching, which includes a core set of skills and additional modules allowing the student to define their path in accordance with their Personal Professional Project.

Main disciplinary fields studied:
Electrical engineering: Electrical engineering, electronic systems and components, signal processing and transmission.
Industrial computing: C language, VHDL and object-oriented programming, automation, networks, development of embedded applications.
Sciences: mathematics and physics applied (sensors, electromagnetism) to the GEII fields.
Expression: verbal and non-verbal communications, language (English).
Knowledge of the company: statutes, structures, sectors of activity, labor law, economics.

The holder of the B.U.T is able to adapt to the varied professions that companies need in the implementation and operation of high-tech hardware and/or software systems. He is also prepared for the digital transition of industry.
