Course Details
Objectives: Plasma physics is an interdisciplinary research field structured both by major research programs in material sciences, astrophysics, planetary science, thermonuclear fusion, and ultra-high-intensity lasers, as well as by major societal challenges. These challenges bring together innovative processes in material resistance, environmental science, healthcare, propulsion, and space weather—an applied branch of space plasma physics that enables the prediction of solar storms and the development of protective measures.
The courses in this master’s program cover all aspects of plasma, the fourth state of matter, whose unique behavior is due to its high ionization. Students can choose from four distinct specializations:
