Objectives: The 2nd year of the IMSD master's degree is a professionally oriented course of the master's degree in mathematics and applications from the University of Lorraine. It is hosted by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lorraine, in partnership with the Ecole des Mines and Télécom Nancy.
Train executives with a mathematical engineer profile, who will be able to choose to implement the most recent mathematical and modeling methods (probability, statistics, PDE analysis and numerical calculation) and the most adapted to the problems encountered in learning, marketing, finance, health, epidemiology, environment, industry and many other fields. The M2 IMSD graduate will master the IT tools for managing large masses of data, learning algorithms, large-dimensional statistics, implementation of methods and stochastic simulation.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Acquired skills during the training : Management and mining of large masses of data, calculation
scientific, statistical modeling, learning, modeling
digital, analysis and risk management,
financial mathematics, simulation, forecasting, optimization, decision support, visualization, code development and maintenance, etc.
Notes: It is possible to follow the M2 IMSD as a double diploma, in parallel with the engineering training of the following schools: Ecole des Mines de Nancy, Télécom Nancy. ENSEM and Polytech.
Partnerships with national organisations: Ecole des Mines et Télécom Nancy
