Course Details

Objectives: The Materials specialty trains generalist and versatile engineers, with solid knowledge in physics, chemistry, materials sciences and process engineering. The original training in Surface Treatments and Coatings (TRS) makes it possible to adapt the surface properties of materials to their use, while respecting the environment. The only engineering level training recognized by the Union of Surface Technologies Industries (UITS), it is also recognized by the French Aeronautical and Space Industries Group (GIFAS).

Thus, the Materials specialty aims to train experts in solid materials and layers capable of:
• Research, experiment, characterize and develop:
– technical materials such as metal alloys, polymers, ceramics and composites
– TRS, through the use of conventional (electrolytic and chemical treatments and coatings) and innovative (PVD, CVD, thermal spraying, etc.) processes,
• Analyze the technical and economic relevance of their use,
• Participate in the development of raw materials, finished products (objects, machines, infrastructure),
• Master manufacturing processes with a view to their industrialization,
• Take social issues into account: control of energy and resources, protection of health and the environment, etc.

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
