Objectives: The plastics engineering specialty trains engineers in the design of parts or systems using polymers, as well as the tools and associated shaping processes. The plastics engineer is therefore responsible for designing products, designing, optimizing and producing production tools, setting up product industrialization and mastering current shaping methods.
With a background in mechanical engineering, the plastics engineer specializes in the scientific and technological aspects related to the design of plastic parts and associated tools. Project management and management as well as the integration of societal and environmental issues in the product life cycle are also part of his skills.
