Objectives: The application-oriented, consecutive Master's degree programme in ‘Mechanical Engineering’ (Master of Engineering) is based on an innovative concept that takes into account the diverse requirements and challenges of today’s globalised markets and the international integration of production and research.
The degree programme covers all steps of manufacturing, from design to the physical production of systems and products. The time span from the idea to the finished product can be considerably shortened as well as improved in quality through the application of computer technology and the corresponding simulation software.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Admission requirements: Bachelor's degree or Diplom in relevant subject areas with graded work totalling 210 ECTS credits and an average grade of at least ‘good’ 2.5 (ECTS grade A or B)
Targeted careers : The Master's programme ‘Mechanical Engineering’ includes, among other things, the computer-based planning and communication technologies that today are summarised under the keyword e-manufacturing. Their aim is to enable modern design, simulation, production and successful quality management. Within the framework of the interdisciplinary projects and the seminars, you acquire in-depth knowledge of the software tools of the ‘digital factory’ available on the market. These are supplemented by a variety of industry-related applications. Based on this training, graduates can choose between wide-ranging fields of work in which the use of computers plays a prominent role.
The degree programme is ideal preparation for your future career. You acquire competences in the areas of forward planning, development, project planning, sales, systems, operations or production in the following fields of activity:
Mechanical, plant and automotive engineering
Electrical engineering/electronics, processing and environmental technology
Logistics companies in trade and export, banks (technical expertise sector), trade associations, consultancies and supervisory authorities
In local authorities
In teaching, training and research institutions
The degree programme also qualifies you for a subsequent doctorate.
