Course Details

Objectives: The International Master in Turbulence targets all industrial and research sectors faced with turbulent flows. The objective is to provide students, at the end of the two-year course, with solid theoretical, numerical and experimental training in turbulence, training allowing them to address all aspects of turbulent flows and their coupling with other physical phenomena (heat transfers, combustion, etc.). The aim is to supply large European companies and the large research laboratories concerned (environment, combustion, engines, energy production, vehicle design, fluid/thermal/chemical systems) with high-level specialists, sufficiently proficient in modeling. modern turbulence to make a significant contribution to the development of projects and research.

Particular emphasis will be placed on digital modeling, particularly using commercial codes, in order to prepare students well for a future in the aeronautics, automobile and railway industries which use these tools intensively. Contact with current industry issues will be made in a privileged manner through the final master's internship, which can be carried out with industrial partners and leading to a "master thesis".

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Admission requirements: Students must hold a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in science or engineering discipline which lends itself to the study of Turbulence, e.g. Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics or Applied Mathematics. Applicants enrolled in French "Diplôme d'ingénieur" program at EC Lille, ENSIP or ENSMA will be completing the final year of their full three-year engineering curriculum during the first year of the Master program.

Proof of proficiency in English is required (TOEFL, IELTS test ...).

International students needing visa and stay permit will have to provide proof of sufficient funding to French officials at French Embassy and/or Consulate.
