Course Details

Objectives: The first semester of the Mechanical Engineering master's degree is common to all courses. On the one hand, it constitutes a base of skills in the different professions of production, design and calculation of structures and on the other hand it helps with orientation in the different courses offered. This constitutes true multidisciplinarity within the mechanical engineering professions and can facilitate subsequent retraining.

The Design course has specific Teaching Units from the first year of the master's degree.
Knowledge

Mechanical concept.
CAD.

Intended for: Students

Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)

Acquired skills during the training : • Analyze specifications.
• Choose, design and/or justify a mechanical system meeting the specifications.
• Develop design solutions using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Choose mechanical components.
• Integrate suitable sensors, actuators and control elements into a mechanical system.
• Develop the control and/or automation of a mechanical system.
• Make an appropriate choice of materials and manufacturing methods for all the parts constituting the mechanical system.
• Define the functional rating of the parts constituting a mechanical system.
• Pre-size mechanical systems.
• Validate the sizing of mechanical parts using structural calculation software.
• Integrate into an organization, lead it and help it evolve: commitment and leadership, project management, interpersonal relationships.
• Research, analyze and synthesize information (technology monitoring) and know how to exploit it by developing an argument with critical thinking.

Targeted careers : The training is clearly oriented towards the aeronautics and space sector but also makes it possible to respond to other industrial sectors (transport, naval, automobile, etc.).

The prospects for professional integration in the aeronautics sector are excellent, particularly in design offices. Integration surveys show full employment in less than 3 months.
Professions:
Design office manager
Engineering and studies manager
