Master en Sciences Spatiales

Course Details

Objectives: The Master in Space Sciences is an unique educational programme organized at the heart of Western Europe. It consists of a highly diversified programme (2-year or 1-year) which includes many scientific aspects of the exploration of the Universe and of the development of space activities.

This master's degree is primarily aimed at anyone who wants to take an active part in space research and applications that will enable progress to be made in our knowledge of the stars, our Earth, the planets of the solar system and those orbiting other stars, in the study of galaxies, quasars and the black holes buried within them, and in the study of the origin, structure and evolution of the Universe.

The 2-year master consists of 120 credits and the 1-year version consists of 60 credits. These credits have to be selected from a programme containing more than 225 credit, covering topics such as cosmology, astroparticles, astrophysics, planetology, climate, oceanography and techniques related to ground-based and space-borne facilities.

It offers two purposes:
the in-depth purpose which is aimed more at students wishing to pursue a career as a researcher
and the specialized purpose which allows the development of skills and know-how with high added value in the non-academic sector.

Targeted careers : A master's degree in space sciences gives access to numerous opportunities in addition to an academic career: industry, innovation, teaching, finance, IT, consultancy, patent offices, etc. are all sectors where there are astrophysicists.
