Objectives: The objective of the GEOSPHERES course is to train future researchers and executives in environmental and territorial engineering, capable of tackling these questions from an interdisciplinary and systemic angle, and of mobilizing diagnostic, monitoring and transfer assistance tools. knowledge between the world of research and regional players.
The training offer of the master is more particularly structured around:
Themes focused on the management of resources (water, climate, biodiversity, landscape, (geo) underground heritage, (geo) mountain heritage) and risks (natural, major)
The study of the impacts of major modifying events on geographic areas, territorial organizations and resources
Analysis of vulnerabilities as well as opportunities induced by these changes
The search for appropriate responses in terms of integrated management and planning taking into account socio-economic and medial dynamics
The methods and tools making it possible to diagnose the state and the future of resources and to understand the trajectories of territories in connection with past, current and future changes. Attention will be paid to the acquisition, systemic and spatial processing of data and / or geographic knowledge as well as management and decision support tools. Among the preferred methods and tools, we can cite GIS, 3D / 4D mapping, multicriteria spatial analysis, system dynamics, risk analysis methods, etc.
This training is original within the national, regional and local training offer in geography, because it is built in a network between different training and research establishments in Geography and Environmental Sciences: Université Grenoble Alpes, UFR IUGA; Savoie Mont-Blanc University, Department of Geography; Saint-Etienne mining school; Alès mining school.
Degree Level (EU) : 7 - (EQC level or equivalent)
Prerequisites: This course, offered only in M2, is open to students with a varied profile, coming from geography, engineering school, human and social sciences, earth sciences, digital science, or even taking a course.
